Clear site, retaining any materials which need to be kept
Set up site hut
Set up outside toilet
Water board should supply stopcock to boundary if necessary
Plumber to connect water standpipe
Builder to mark out building and profiles
Delivery of bricks and blocks
Builder/groundworker excavates foundations
Position mesh/cages in trenches
Position compressible material if required
Lay ducts for services in foundations
Arrange foot scaffold and shutter if necessary
Pour concrete footings
Building control to approve works
Bricklayers build up foundation blockwork to damp-proof course
Install cranked air vents
Install drainage lintels
Fill cavities with lean-mix concrete to level with external ground level
Bed and lay damp proof course, linking with any radon membranes or barriers
